10-12 years ago, unless you were in a hood Southern club, you could still hear the Flipside, Pump it up, Light ya ass on fire, Wrong idea, PSA type of songs.then the Get low, Georgia Dome, Whistle while you twerk songs had their own lane.then the Knuck if you buck, Bia Bia's were a whole different sound as well.īlame the East Coast for losing their touch in the club! The West took forever to find a club sound, and I think that has potential to grow into more songs like Eric Bellinger "I don't want her"

So called "ratchet" has always been a staple in the clubs, it just wasn't always dominant. hip hop is changing and some don't even consider "ratchet" to be hiip hop at all Capo said he couldn't play ratchet therefore he's forced to play OLDER hiphop, what does that tell you? Most of today's newer hiphop is ALL ratchet, which is prolly the cause of most of the songs on this forum being ratchet. I agree that there's an over-abundance, BUT I think this is where capos brought up good point that I also agree with. I just take it or leave it, whether I like half of what's being posted or not I'm glad this thing has been around strong for the past few years and going. I wouldn't be able to and (and I'm glad I don't have to) play half of it, but a lot of the guys who regularly contribute (again, appreciated) are in areas/play the kind of venues where this type of music is what get's the party going so you can't fault it.Īnd, whether the contributors repeatedly post their area or not, you/we should be able to take a look and use our own judgement as to whether it works in our own circles or not. Not that I don't appreciate the thread, but there's definitely an over abundance of ratchetness on any given day where it could almost be called "Hottest Crap/Ratchet & Bullshit: 2014 Edition". so what kinda crowds do u guys rock with most of this ratchet stuff? but I find that some of it is just too ratchet for the typical mainstream bar crowds that I get, I see a huge difference between hiphopo and RATCHET sounding hiphop. Question: What kind of crowds do you guys usually drop this type of stuff to? Don't get me wrong I love the music, otherwise I wouldn't be here. Lil Wayne and Meek Mill - Good dayĮ-40 ft. Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Juicy J, and The Game - Double Cup Problem - I don't want herĭJ Infamous ft. Lil Wayne and French Montana/Too Short - LoyalĮric Bellinger ft. Drake and Juicy J - Shit (Remix)Ĭhris Brown ft. Young Jeezy, Rich Homie Quan, YG - My hitta (Ride for my N'gga)įuture ft. I do think most of the hits we play are 6t months old now.so I am ready for a new wave to come in. Here's a list of current songs I'd say are getting club love, that aren't played out (just yet).along with some that are on the bubble.
